Our MFL curriculum is designed to progressively develop children’s skills in Spanish, through regular taught lessons across KS2. Children progressively acquire, use and apply a growing bank of vocabulary organised around everyday topics. All of these approaches help to equip our children with the skills to be confident global citizens, willing to communicate effectively in this diverse international world. They will develop an understanding and respect for other cultures and ways of life and develop an interest to learn other languages.

As part of the curriculum all children in KS2 have a weekly Spanish lesson delivered by a specialist language teacher. Children learn core vocabulary as well as the culture and traditions of Spain. The lessons orientate heavily around speaking and listening with plenty of practise of the Spanish language. Children participate in interactive activities such as games, songs, videos and role play.
